Suffering is an unavoidable reality of life—whether a person is a believer or not, trials will come. What matters is what we do while we are going through them.

The media, films, and fine art produced by this studio exist to show that our season of trials or suffering is not a stagnant season, but an active, holy preparation. This creative work points those navigating deep distress to Christ and walks with them toward cultivating a lifestyle of spiritual alignment: the study of the Word of God, the praise, the worship, the thanksgiving, and the choosing to rejoice—even when the circumstances haven’t shifted.

Our faith is rooted in Christ, who sustains us to the end.

Meet Morgan

The heart behind Waiting Area is for the Gospel of Jesus to be shared. He is the light that conquered darkness.

For years, Morgan lived in the same darkness she now seeks to help others navigate. During that time, she was in a state of depression that lasted over a decade, and, more significantly, she was living outside of God’s will. She was not yet born again, and that spiritual separation put her on a path of destruction. While she was already drawn to helping those in emotional and mental distress, the tragic story of ten-year-old Isabella “Izzy” Tichenor—who died by suicide due to relentless school bullying—brought a new level of awareness.

As a mother raising a daughter, and as a sister, aunt, and cousin, Izzy’s story hit close to home. It ignited a deep urgency within Morgan regarding what it takes to truly protect the minds of our children today, highlighting the critical importance of surrounding women and girls with support during their seasons of deepest distress.

When Morgan surrendered to Christ and was born again, everything changed. Her perspective shifted from the natural to the spiritual. She saw clearly that many are functioning under the same emptiness she once felt—a void that comes from being disconnected from the Creator. Often, the symptoms of this disconnect are mistaken for strictly natural or mental health problems. While this is not to diminish the reality of true clinical illnesses, it is to acknowledge that a person’s greatest struggle is their separation from God. When we are disconnected from Him, there’s an internal emptiness we desperately try to mask with external things. But only God can fill that void, and it is through faith in Christ that true restoration is given.

Because Morgan has experienced the transformation in Christ firsthand, it is now her mission to testify to this truth.

“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps” -Proverbs 16:9

Creative arts have always been a familiar place for Morgan. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, she spent most of her time caught between reading, writing and drawing. She was captivated by the variety of books kept in her mom’s closet, and would often sneak to read them, finding herself drawn into the different writing styles that sparked a desire to write stories of her own. Alongside this, she spent her time sketching—primarily cartoon characters and flowers as well as some portrait attempts but because she couldn’t get the facial proportions accurate, she gave up.

The complexities of life—navigating high school, a move from the South Side of Chicago to attend college, and the transition into motherhood at age 19—led to a 15-year hiatus from creative writing and drawing. During this season, Morgan also experienced depression that was sparked by cyberbullying. It was through therapy that she was challenged to reconnect with the things that once brought her joy. Responding to the challenge, she pulled out her old notebooks filled with countless of stories, reviewing and revising old work and writing new pieces. Her focus centered on helping young girls and women gain a fresh perspective during their seasons of suffering. She also started back sketching. What began as simple visuals to accompany her stories soon evolved into a multi-media practice, experimenting with acrylic paint, yarn, clay, foam, eventually leading to her preferred mediums: modeling paste and drywall mud. In 2023, after nearly two decades of avoidance, she finally found the courage to draw and sculpt the human face once more.

Her gifts eventually led her to be featured in a short film, the independent publication of her book, and an art collection that once grew to a dozen sculptural paintings. However, following a transformative encounter with God, she felt a strong conviction that her earlier work didn’t align with her truth in Christ. She walked away from a stage play after receiving a divine confirmation that the project would not point others to Him, and that her very identity would be at stake. She also discontinued her book on Amazon, burned the remaining copies she had stored in her home, and removed her old paintings. Her art collection currently consists of four paintings as she is now intentionally rebuilding on an unchanging foundation through her faith in Christ.

Morgan holds a Master of Science in Professional Media and Media Management and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism specializing in Advertising with a minor in Psychology. Her professional background spans diverse roles in school systems and nonprofits, where she has mentored families and provided resources to individuals to help them flourish. Part of this work included serving on the front lines as a 24/7 crisis rotation worker as well as a Crisis Supervisor. Additionally, having been trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid and previously serving as a Certified Trainer in Adult Mental Health First Aid, Morgan brings a deep, professional understanding of emotional wellness to her ministry. After four years of therapy that contributed significantly to her growth, Morgan concluded her sessions after she surrendered to Jesus as her Lord and Savior, shifting her focus entirely to prayer, the study of Scripture, and seeking the wise counsel of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Morgan remains grateful to do what she has always loved—now with a clear and eternal purpose. Every blog post, sculptural painting, and short film is a vehicle to share the Gospel and to help believers mature in Christ. She remains in awe of the progress found in every resource, ensuring that Jesus’ name is lifted and that God receives all of the glory for the work produced by her hands.

To God Be The Glory. Forever. And Ever.
